Pravin Kothari

Pravin Kothari founded CipherCloud in 2010 when he recognized that while the cloud was disrupting enterprise IT with explosive growth, the security technologies had not kept pace and enterprises were losing control over their sensitive data. Pravin is driving the rapid growth of CipherCloud by managing its business, strategy, and operations. Pravin is a security visionary with more than 20 years of experience building industry-leading companies and bringing innovative products to market. Pravin was the Founder & CTO of Agiliance, a leading Security Risk Management company, and Co-founder & VP Engineering of ArcSight, a leading security company, which was acquired by HP for $1.6 billion. Previously, Pravin was Co-founder & Chief Architect at Impresse Corporation and also held technical leadership positions at Verity, Attachmate, and Tata Consultancy Services. Pravin holds over a dozen patents in security technologies and is the inventor behind CipherCloud’s groundbreaking cloud encryption technology.

John M. Jack

Board Member, Board Partner at Andreessen Horowitz

John M. Jack (JJ) has worked in the software industry since 1980 in sales, marketing, and executive management. Highlights include: CEO at Fortify Software (sold to Hewlett Packard) and CEO Covalent (sold to VMware). COO at The Vantive Corporation (public, sold to PeopleSoft), and executive positions at Sybase, Inc.

Since leaving Hewlett Packard in January of 2012, he has served as a consultant to start-up companies and their CEOs. JJ currently serves on a number of venture-backed company boards in the cyber-security and other segments. He is also a board partner at the VC firm Andreessen Horowitz.

Gilles Samoun

Board Member, CEO at NTR Global

Gilles Samoun is the CEO at NTR Global in Barcelona, Spain. Prior to NTR Global, Gilles was Chairman and CEO of Solsoft. Previously, he served at Benchmark Capital as a member of its EIR team. Prior to Benchmark, he was the founder and CEO of Qualys, where he established the company as the leading global online security auditing service provider. Before founding Qualys, Gilles was the CEO of MediaPath Technologies, a LAN caching software company. He also spent five years at Verity, a leading provider of software solutions that power business portals, where he served as General Manager and Vice President for Europe. While at Verity, he successfully managed sales growth and developed the company’s European presence. Prior to Verity, Gilles Samoun held various technical leadership and management positions at Artefix and Fininfo.

Georg Schwegler

Board Observer, CEO at Transamerica Ventures

Georg Schwegler joined the Transamerica Ventures team in September 2013 as the founding Managing Director/CEO. Prior to joining Transamerica, he was the CEO of T-Venture, the corporate venture unit of Deutsche Telekom and T-Mobile, where he established a broad network in the venture capital, start-up, and technology communities in Europe, the United States and Israel.

Georg has been in the venture capital industry for 14 years and has served on numerous boards in a supervisory board member or observer role. Before T-Venture, he led the central R&D and innovation program of Deutsche Telekom. Earlier in his career, he worked as a consultant in marketing and innovation research. Georg holds a PhD in business administration from the University of Cologne in Cologne, Germany.

Geoffrey Fink

Board Observer, Partner at Delta Partners

Geoffrey is a partner at Delta Partners. He has worked in private equity for almost 20 years. His professional career includes leading significant buyout and growth capital transactions in the telecoms, media and digital (TMD) and consumer sectors. Geoffrey has a strong track record of significant value creation for his investors, including investments in challenging emerging markets environments.

Prior to joining Delta Partners, Geoffrey was at TPG Capital for ten years, during which time he played a leading role in several telecom infrastructure investments and also led coverage of the consumer goods and airline transportation sectors. He also served as a consultant and manager at McKinsey & Company in London and held roles in investment banking with Goldman Sachs and PaineWebber.

Geoffrey is a member of the New York Bar and has served on the Board of Directors of a number of public companies including Gemplus International SA, Gemalto NV, Eutelsat Communications SA, and Eden Springs Ltd., as well as having been a director of numerous private companies.

Geoffrey received a J.D., magna cum laude, from Harvard Law School, an M.A.L.D. from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy and a Bachelor’s of Arts, summa cum laude, from Yale University. He speaks fluent English, French and Spanish, and is actively engaged with a number of educational and charitable institutions.

Assistant Professor at the Johns Hopkins Information Security Institute

Matthew Green holds the position of Assistant Professor at the Johns Hopkins Information Security Institute, where he teaches practical cryptography. He helped create Zerocoin, an extension that builds anonymity for use with Bitcoin and other cryptocurrency transactions. Green also co-founded and serves on the Open Crypto Audit Project (OCAP) board. He brings cutting-edge security and cryptographic research insight to help CipherCloud shape its technology innovation and roadmap.

Brian Honan

Brian Honan is an internationally renowned expert in the cyber and information security spaces. He has advised numerous private sector companies and government departments and entities, such as the European Commission, on IT security strategy. Honan is a leading expert in consumer privacy and enterprise security issues. He is a champion of innovative technologies that address these pressing concerns.

Ramy Houssaini

Vice President BT Security Europe, Risk & Technology Board Advisor

Ramy Houssaini is an internationally recognized cybersecurity and risk management executive with experience in the financial services, consumer goods, telecom and healthcare industries. He is currently the Vice President of BT Security in Europe and previously headed Accenture’s cybersecurity practice and was Vice President for Global Risk Management at Visa. He is an active member of the Risk and Insurance Management Society and advises healthcare and technology companies on creating risk conscious cultures and effectively managing operational risks.

Paul Simmonds

Co-editor, Cloud Security Alliance “Guidance v3.0”, Co-founder and Board Member, Jericho Forum, and Former CISO, AstraZeneca

Paul is a co-founder and board member of the Jericho Forum, the co-editor of the Cloud Security Alliance’s “Security Guidance for Critical Areas of Focus in Cloud Computing v3.0,” and a security consultant. Until recently, he was the global CISO of AstraZeneca, and prior to that the global CISO of ICI. Paul’s varied career has included electronic countermeasures, theatre and TV lighting, North Sea Oil control systems design, and network management for JET (Nuclear Fusion Research). He has also set up several commercial radio stations. Prior to his time at ICI, he was Head of Information Security with a high security European web hosting company, and before that spent seven years with Motorola as a global information security manager.

He has earned the “Chief Security Officer of the Year” and “Best Security Implementation” awards by SC Magazine, and has been listed twice in Network World’s “Most Powerful People in Networking.” In addition to the Jericho Forum, Paul sits on the advisory board of a number of leading-edge computing companies, as well as the Executive Advisory Board of ISSA UK. Paul has a degree in Electronic Engineering and a City & Guilds in Radio Communication. He also is a British Canoe Union Level 3 Kayak Coach.

Chris Zoladz

CEO, Navigate LLC, Former VP, Information Protection & Privacy, Marriott International

Chris Zoladz, CIPP, CIPP/G, CISSP, CISA, CPA, CGFM is the founder of Navigate LLC, a consulting company focused on providing comprehensive strategic and tactical information protection & privacy consulting services. Prior to founding Navigate in April 2009, Chris was the Vice President, Information Protection & Privacy at Marriott International, a function he created in 1999. In this role, Chris had responsibility for all global information protection & privacy activities including executive advocacy, policy, awareness programs, training, information mapping, risk assessment and remediation, and legal compliance, including PCI DSS. Chris and his team collaborated with management across all Marriott business units and departments to ensure that the company’s valuable information assets were identified, adequately protected, and leveraged for economic gain in a privacy-sensitive manner. Chris also served as Chair of the Information Security & Privacy Governance Committee and was a member of the eBusiness Council. Chris joined Marriott after a thirteen year career at Ernst & Young, where he last served as the Mid-Atlantic Area Office Director of IT Auditing and Security Services. In this role, Chris led a practice group focused on delivering high quality information systems audit and security consulting services to numerous clients in a multitude of industries. Chris also served on the Ernst & Young IT Assurance & Advisory Services Practice Management Committee. Chris is a past-president, treasurer and a founding board member of the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) and recipient of the 2006 IAPP Vanguard Award as the Chief Privacy Officer of the Year. He was also a past member of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Telecommunications and eCommerce Committee. He was named one of the top privacy advisors in 2010 by ComputerWorld. Chris is also a contributing author to the recently published book titled Building a Privacy Program: A Practitioner’s Guide.
