PCI Compliance

PCI DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard) is a standard that all organizations must follow when storing, processing and transmitting their customer’s payment card data.

PCI DSS was developed and the standard is maintained by the Payment Card Industry Security Standards Council (PCI SSC). To be PCI complaint companies must meet security requirements in 6 major domains covering hundreds of separate control objectives including the protection of stored payment card data, the encrypted transmission of cardholder data across public networks and key management best practices. Many organizations use encryption and tokenization to protect cardholder data and to reduce the audit scope of their PCI DSS environment.
