CipherCloud Database Gateway
Encrypt Any Public or Private Cloud Database
Eliminate the Barriers to Using Databases in the Cloud
Cloud databases offer businesses and governments the opportunity to reduce the cost and effort of managing databases. Whether for production systems or testing, cloud databases can scale quickly and support a whole new range of cloud and mobile applications. However, many organizations are unable to make the move to cloud because of data security, privacy, residency, and compliance concerns.
CipherCloud™ Database Gateway eliminates these barriers with encryption for millions of IaaS, SaaS, PaaS, and behind-the-firewall databases. Available for Java applications connecting to JDBC-enabled databases, Database Gateway allows enterprises to deploy encryption or tokenization in hours—revolutionizing cloud security. Supported cloud services include Amazon RDS, Windows Azure SQL Database, Oracle Cloud Database Service, and database.com, along with behind-the-firewall Oracle Database, Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, IBM DB2, Sybase Database Server, and PostgresSQL.
Transparent Data Encryption without Coding or Database Changes
With CipherCloud Database Gateway, simply configure your application to load the CipherCloud JDBC driver and specify columns to encrypt or tokenize in the browser-based CipherCloud administration interface. Unlike other approaches, there’s no coding with cryptographic toolkits or relying on a service provider’s option where you don’t own keys. There’s also no new encryption hardware or software that’s expensive and can’t be installed in public clouds.
CipherCloud Database Gateway encrypts sensitive data.
All the Benefits of Cloud Databases
CipherCloud function and format-preserving encryption and tokenization secures data while retaining native database capabilities such as field type, searching, and sorting. CipherCloud Database Gateway processes queries and encryption operations for you. When setting CipherCloud Database Gateway policies, administrators can choose any combination of encryption and tokenization options for individual database columns.
CipherCloud’s encryption and decryption process is completely transparent to your end users.
You Control the Keys
With CipherCloud, you, not the cloud provider, retain complete control over your encryption keys, so your confidential information can never be disclosed without your knowledge and approval, not even under the cloud provider’s legal disclosure policy. CipherCloud provides bulletproof protection against the Top Cloud Threats identified by the Cloud Security Alliance (CSA), including account hijacking and data loss.
