Skincare Company Trusts CipherCloud for Salesforce to Meet International and Offshore Security Regulations

Challenge

Based in Hamburg, Germany, this major cosmetics company was founded 130 years ago.  Dedicated to skincare excellence from the beginning, the company’s founder worked closely with dermatologists and physicians, handling orders from doctors and pharmacies all over the world. Of their today’s 16,500 employees, nearly 1,000 are scientists.

In today’s cloud-based environment, the company wanted to implement a cloud infrastructure to streamline their partner interactions as well as a customer portal that would provide better, faster customer service.

Requirements

The company decided on Salesforce as the right platform to support both their customer portal and partner interactions.  They planned to use multiple features of Salesforce, including Web-to-case and email-to-case forms for creating cases online.

In support of this initiative, they needed to:

  • Secure the portal to protect customer service and partner information
  • Ensure strong encryption for sensitive and private data
  • Comply with strict German and international privacy laws as well as offshore data

Solution

The skincare company partnered with CipherCloud to implement their CipherCloud for Salesforce security solution.
